Hey everyone. Here's some leftovers from May that I never fit in. We can't believe we've known this kid for almost 6 months. His teachers at school tell me that its time to move up to stage 2 foods because " that stage one stuff is so easy for him!" Um......
1. Its OK for food consumption to be easy.
2. I'M HIS MOTHER.
3. back off...nobody wants any pureed chicken.

I'm going to a VitalStim certification course on June the 10th which will certify me as a VitalStim provider, which is cool- check it out... www.vitalstim.com HOWEVER, I have to pass a pre-test to get into the course, which consists of a 10 hour online seminar complete with unit tests, final tests, and essays that I have to pass with 80% competency. Wowsers. I forgot that I used to know what the tensor veli palatini was. That really is a swallowing muscle. Anyway, luckily you can take the tests more than once, and I'm up to "competent" on unit one. I need to do some more work now. Talk soon! E

We went to the grocery, then we went to the pool. It was fun. We're havin a wing cookout, so I gotta go.

We sprayed him down with SPF 50, and its a good thing, cause the "sunsmart SPF 50 cabana" was worthless.

We're gonna celebrate two years of wedded bliss with a whole day of DOIN NOTHIN. Can't wait.

Wish we could have another wedding reception on PawPaw. Wasn't that fun?! I haven't danced on a chair since. Maybe that's what I'll do tomorrow.

Lovey dovey lervy derve.... E

Olivers' Travels

We've been around the world it seems. We couldn't stand it any longer without Shaun, so Ethan and I set out on Thursday afternoon for Little Rock. I got to meet Emily Claire and say the standard " Oh! She's so little!" that makes the mother that carried her for the last 9 months hold back an eye roll... Then we went to hang out with Eli and Nana, THEN we drove to Shreveport, we went to Shaun's office and passed Ethan around...THEN we went to see Sarah Maxine, THEN we got to hang with Shaun, THEN we hung out with Momo, THEN Missy and Gary, THEN Rob and Angela, THEN the Hirsches, THEN all the other friends were thankfully gathered into one place, THEN back to Momo's, THEN Mimi came over, deep breath........... THEN back to Little Rock.... to PawPaw's office, THEN to Emily and Eli's house... and THEN. WE. FINALLY. CAME. HOME. Ethan was a trooper, and didn't fall apart ( and rightfully so) until Clarksville. I think we'll stay still for a little while. It was hot enough to swim in Shreveport and we're glad to be back where the temperatures are humane. Don't get me wrong... we had a great time, and I wish we could see all those people twice a week, but... you know what Dorothy says...

Dear Dad,
Hope you're having fun in Shreveport. Throw up on Momo for me, ok?? Mom an I are posting some pictures of me that we just took so you can see what I look like today. Good news! I'm not a ladybug anymore! I've graduated to the angels class. There's a little more action going on in there, so I'm excited to bust out of the baby room. It's bath time and Mama just said something about reading books and going to bed... SHE THINKS! I'll make you proud.
Come home. Mom is not funny like you.

I got painted footprints! Just what I wanted! Better, I got to sleep until 8:15 this morning!!! I realize that I am rarely IN the blog. This is because I'm always behind the camera. I like it better that way. I'll feature myself for today only.
I think the antibiotics are making Ethan sicker... and I'm thinking about stopping them. I'll call our family biochemist first and see what she thinks. I don't want to encourage antibiotic' de resistance.
I baked a cake today. Maybe someday I'll open a bakery with fancy cakes. That would be fun. Profitable? Maybe not.

Shaun is in Shreveport next week (insert loud vomit sound). But.. it will be his last business trip there.

I'm going to eat cake.

Happy Mom's Day. E

Ethan's got the stuff I had. Poor guy. Shaun took him to the doc this afternoon. He's a 16 pounder with a red throat, a sinus infection, and some diaper rash. They're not sure if his rash is from nursing while I took antibiotics, food in his pee, or bad parenting. I hope it goes away soon so I don't have to worry about it. He has some foul smelling antibiotics to take.
Lately, he loves to suck on his bottom lip... we think there may be a tooth coming in on the bottom... but we don't know what the H we're talking about.... He had reminence of paint on his feet when he took a bath tonight, so I'm hoping...fingers crossed... squint and squat HOPING! that I get some sort of construction paper and tempra paint creation for mama's day. I'll laminate it.
OH! Speaking of tempra paint. I've witnessed a travesty. We all know I'm back in the pediatric world. I went to fetch a couple of kids for some ar-tic-u-la-shun therapy the other day and witnessed LIVE WORMS being placed amid drops of paint on a big peice of butcher paper. This was a scheduled activity. Next... the live worms, not knowing any better, wiggle around and "paint" with the drops of paint UNTIL. THEY. RESPIRATE. THE. PAINT. THROUGH. THEIR. OSMOTIC. PORES. AND. WRIGGLE. TO. A. SLOW. DEATH. I was waiting for one of those kids to ask. I didn't stick around, and I didn't call PETA, but COME ON! What's next, catch and release?! Good Gravy! (favorite new saying that I stole from my least favorite Food TV personality, Rachael Ray)
So back to the kid. He sucks on his bottom lip, turned 5 months on Monday for those of you who have lost count, and can almost sit up. I know what everyone is going to say about these pictures... You're worried about a buncha earthworms and you set your kid on the counter with no hands?! No babies were harmed in the taking of these nekkid booty pictures. He just got out of the bath... that's why he's all red and splotchy. Tomorrow is Friday! I love that. Happy Mother's Day Banana Nana. I'm trying to do as well as you did.
Good Gravy! Erin

I have strep and pink eye. Disgusting. I feel like Quasi Moto. Is that his first and last name? Or is it just his first name? Quasimoto Harris... Quasi Moto Smith-Jones... Quasimoto Hamucklachuck? Back to me... My eye itches, and my throat hurts real bad. I'm talking REAL BAD. I'm not a complainer, but I've done my fair share today. I've gotten some drugs, so hopefully I'll be better soon.

Here are some great pictures. He's a ham bone.
