Our sweet boy! He just keeps getting more enjoyable...
Sorry for the lull in posts... Shaun went to Dallas for new job training and took the laptop.
We were in Shreveport last weekend and Ethan couldn't keep his eyes or hands off Momo's orange socks, her necklaces... and Mimi's knees were quite entertaining for him...
We tried out a grocery cart with some props from purses... it worked.
Here's all the white blonde kids that Ethan goes to school with. Fayetteville is no mecca of diversity. We really have to work on that.
We were watching whatever show comes on before Bob the Builder the other day.... about these kids who sing about their adventures in the rainforest... and the characters' names were 1) Uniqua 2) Jerome and I don't remember the others. Somewhere there's a little girl beaming that they finally have her name on TV. You know... I only came across Erin ONE TIME in a text book, and it was on a word math problem. LAME!
Uniqua had the best voice
We'll be at the beach next week so the next blog should be better than usual. SEE YA! E

Ethan is growing a tooth. For some reason, this makes him want to get up at 530 in the morning to play. He was done with the crib, so we pulled him into our bed.... there he played with my nose, Shaun's beard, the covers, the pillow, etc...etc... I gave up and got up. Then he was DELIGHTED to find out that his toy bucket tips over. He got everything out... then we put everything up... then he got everything out... the we put everything up... the he got everything out.... it took him two cups of coffee to get bored.... then he fell asleep. Nice timing.
Then Shaun got up and I captured Father's Day moment number one.
Then we went to breakfast... rather breakslow I should say.... and then we went and blew some cash at the Toys R Us.
It's AWESOME in there. I've never been. Really. I haven't. I had no idea. We got some new toys (Sam and Alicia still win the Living Room most resembling Chuck E Cheese prize!!!) and we got back home by noon. I'm exhausted.
Ethan was having a little 'roid rage from those steroids he was on last week. He would eat and eat and eat and eat. Finally had to cut him off. I took him off all his medicine and his chest got clear. Hmmmmmm. I still suck his brains out with that little nasal torture device... he sees it coming and just squeezes his eyes shut and waits for it to be over. WHAT A TROOPER!
That sweet baby is sleeping in his crib, and I'm heading that way myself.

DAD'S DAY!!!!

Hey Hey Hey
Hip hip hooray for the inventor of the exersaucer. I don't know what we'd do without it. You'd think they'd need to make interchangeable toys to keep the entertainment alive... but they don't.
For being a high strung dog, Zoe is suprisingly gentle and curious about Ethan. She lets him abuse her... until this morning when he put her ear in his mouth. She ran away yelping. Good girl, Zoe.
EMO does enjoy an afternoon snack and a Baby Einstein video. Those people are making a killing. Its toys on fishing wire bobbing around on screen. A guaranteed 21 minutes of occupied Ethan. I'm sure there are gasps of "she lets her baby watch TV?" Yes. She does. She did today, and she will tomorrow.
WHY am I always in this car seat?

Its June already.
Happy June everyone. Especially all of you who were smart enough to choose a career in public schools. Ethan turns 1/2 tomorrow. Anyone who knows us Byrds know that we do indeed celebrate the halfy birthday... usually to the theme of a cupcake and a coloring book... we'll probobly do bananas and a chew toy this year. Six months ago at this hour I was at LaHuerta eating cheese dip with Momo and Missy and Nana and Rach and Shaun and fetal Ethan wondering what the next day would bring. It brought alot.
Ray brought us a much needed date last weekend. She came over while Ethan was supposed to be sleeping and sent us out for dinner. We had a lovely time.... and Rach said that he only did the "YOU ARE NOT MY MOTHER!" cry for a little while before she and Matt got a bottle prepared. She even said that she would do it again?! As we see here in this pic, she was triumphant. He was still asleep when we got home. Rock on sisterbaby!
Let the countdown begin to the 22nd? annual Byrd et. al trip to the beach. We go on the 1st. Banana is taking one for the team and taking a trip to check it out next week. Thanks mom. Somebody had to do it.
This will be my first endeavor with child on the beach, and i hope I can still find time to get burnt toast on my hip flexors (its the ultimate level of tanned perfection.)
Here's more pictures. Later!
