The Kennedys have Hyannisport, but if you're lucky enough to be of the Byrds, you get access to the Cherokee 27 foot travel trailer. Now this, undoubtedly, is the way to go camping. We arrived on Friday, just in time to get set up before Julien and his parents showed up. Ethan and Jules haven't seen eachother in a while, so they got re-acquainted before Bennett, Sophie, and Emma brought their family and the biggest 3 room tent you've ever seen. The rain was relentless, so we were thankful for a dry spot and a Barney video. I felt sorry for our tent-bound friends, but not sorry enough to share my cozy trailer! I woke up Sunday morning to Ethan saying "I please need that umbrella." He went, dry and well-slept to wake up our friends. They were all good sports.. probably better than I would have been. Now we've vowed to travel the country in our awesome, loaned, house-on-wheels, so be watching your driveways for the Olivers to show up. We'll honk real loud.

The Easter Bunny has really brought it up a notch since the 80s. Aint no boiled eggs in that basket. We'll have to bring it on back down before Ethan has any solidified memories.
It's still cold outside, so we kept our hunt in the living room. We're still missing one, but atleast it's not boiled.

Now he's high on chocolate and won't take a nap.
Everyone else in the universe can add videos to their blogs. Mine never works. I don't give up....

I vowed a long time ago that I would never squelch a child's personal style. If all your privates are covered, and you've got shoes on, you can walk out the door and face the natural consequences of your choices. THAT is why I had to swallow my tongue when I accidentally gave him the option of what to wear this evening to a very public restaurant establishment.... But like Nana says, nobody was looking at me...

Ethan did enjoy dying eggs. He did think twice before dunking the egg in blue. Everying is personified these days, and he let the egg know that it was "dark in there" before he sent him in..

Basketball is still tops to Ethan. I'm going to have to break it to him one of these days that he's gonna have to be that quick little short guy on the team. All I hear at this moment from the garage is the Stones blaring and two voices yelling NICE! and REBOUND! Oh my... he littlest voice just said "in yo face!" Shaun's plays a MEAN game on a four foot goal.
Happy Easter. I'll post soon.

Any day that starts with breakfast in bed can't end well, right? It was a beautiful springish day. He didn't have to wear a coat (his parents refuse to buy a new one for this season... it's gotta stop snowing soon!, so he has to cram his 27 month body in a 12 month coat), and nobody chewed on him at school...

He went to check the mail, there's that steep grade in the driveway, and he um...forgot to catch his pretty little face before it hit the concrete. He still has all his teeth.

He's scabbed up pretty well, but he's resumed all normal activities. He takes his eggos at the table now. He's usually on the basketball court first thing in the morning. When did he get so big??
My napper is awake... gotta go. We're going to go buy a potty this afternoon!!

It's been a rough week for Ethan's head. First, he ran into the schoolbus toy on the playground outside school. There's a big old bump on his temple. Then he ran into the garage door while he was "shootin hoops wit daddy". Then he tackled himself on the tile AFTER he took his helmet off. He's learning. We've got our first picture appointment ever tomorrow, and he's covered with bumps and bruises.
What else what else.... he likes to line up his new safari animals. They ate dinner with him tonight. And... when we were talking the other day, I told him he could have some nice green round grapes for his snack, he rolled his eyes at me (I swear!) and said, "mama- grapes ovals." Of course they are.
He's in a growing spurt, so he eats early breakfast(7:30), on the way to school breakfast(9:30), 10:00 snack at school, lunch(11), school snack at 3:00, snack when he gets home, dinner, and bedtime snack. And the boy loooooves a "fin mint." Thank you girl scouts. Halleluja, "footballman" finally loves some personal hygiene. If he brushes his teeth, then he gets to shave... and with all those thin mints, he's gettin' good at the molars.
We're supposed to have a snow day tomorrow, but I'm. tired. of. snow. Hoping for the mid 60s instead.
Love to all, E
