We went to the doctor yesterday. When we got into the office, Ethan shook the doctor's hand, they made small talk, then Ethan said, very seriously and with one finger out... "you tell those monkeys no jumpin' on the bed?" The Good Doctor rolled with it - an obvious match for pediatrics.
THEN, on our way outta there... Fayetteville's finest motorcycle cop pulled this mama over for going 34?.. who knew it was 25... and Ethan FREAKED OUT. "Mama! There's a policeman at our car!!! He got mittens! He got a helmet! Ooooh! He got flash lights on! Policeman talkin' to you mama? Hey policeman! I Ethan policeman! I see your mittens? I see your mo-cycle? Like your sunglasses. He got boots on!" You know that sucker didn't say a word to my baby. Come on. He did let me off with a warning, which was generous... but he could have at least acknowledged his mega-fan in the backseat.
We're on day three of dry underpants at school. We're also half-way done with a pound of m&ms. Twoyearsago Erin would have never stood for such behavior. She's come to her senses.
Seems like this should be Friday already...

We traveled South last weekend. I got lots of pics with the Little Rock cousins, and apparently put my camera on sabbatical while we were in Shreveport. I'll get those cousins on the next trip.
This boy loves some tomatoes. He got to spend lots of time with Eli and Emily in their backyard. He doesn't look big next to many people, but he's got a head on Emily... for a little while atleast.
Got to drive the "tractor lift" at PawPaw's plant. He got a new bag of tile and now plays "PawPaw's tile store."
Ethan is in awe of Eli. I pull my Eli card whenever I need Ethan to do something sans resistance. Eli takes a bath... Eli wears shoes.. Eli doesn't go to school naked. I'm hoping it works for a lifetime.
When you put them all together in a sandbox, they certainly look related. I never know if I see Ethan when I look at Eli or if its the familiarity I recognize from Sam. Freaks me out.
Again, I'll catch more Shreveport pictures on the next trip. Mimi had a heart attack this morning, but she's ok. Get well soon Mimi!!!

Hey everybody. It was an uneventful week. We're still teaching Ethan that Mom and Dad, infact, happen to be in charge. It's a hard concept.
Momo will appreciate this full-circle moment, as Shaun used to make roads and tunnels for his cars with his books.
And... mornings are still rough for everyone, but "hot hot cocoa" helps us make the best of it.
Sassy McNO! Pants has just woken up. Gotta go!!!

Spring is finally here. We've been cooped up in this house too long this winter. We were starting to get stale.
We went to the Farmer's Market, where Ethan was very excited to meet some farmers. He met some herb farmers, shook their hands, then tried to get in their farmer truck.
We had to disappoint him and bring him back home, but then the boys planted our garden, went on wheelbarrow races across the yard, and played in the sprinkler.
Topic switch: Potty training is stupid. He has no desire to play any sort of "big boy" games, and I heard him tell shaun the he "love those diapers and wants lots of them." Stupid. Stupid. Stupid. Or I'm stupid for trying.
Mr. Sassy is getting a little out of control. This whole NO! thing is on our nerves. Alas, we wouldn't trade him in. Mr.Sassy... that's good. I think I'll continue that until we parent(a.k.a. fly by seat of pants) him through this lovely phase.
Talk soon! E
